This Privacy Policy describes how GoDrively collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data from riders and drivers using our mobile application and ride-hailing/taxi platform.

1. Introduction

Welcome to GoDrively (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a modern ride-hailing, VTC, and taxi platform built for Algeria. We are committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring your privacy.

This Privacy Policy details how we collect, process, share, and protect personal information when you use our mobile application (built using React Native with Expo) and our website services. By accessing or using GoDrively, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a reliable, efficient, and safe service, we collect personal information about you when you interact with our platform. This collection falls into three categories: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

3. Account Information

When you sign up or log in as a rider or driver, we collect the following account information:

  • Personal Identifiers: Your full name, email address, and phone number.
  • Profile Details: A profile photo (optional for riders, mandatory for drivers to ensure platform safety and security).
  • Security Credentials: Password hashes used for securing your account.
  • Driver Credentials (Drivers Only): Vehicle details (make, model, color, license plate), driver's license photo, taxi permit, identity documents, and criminal record clearance files.

4. Location Information

Device Location Access

GoDrively requires your device's location to operate correctly. We collect precise location data (via GPS coordinates, cellular network, or Wi-Fi) to calculate pickup points, show nearby drivers, and monitor routes during active trips.

To match riders with nearby drivers, calculate fares, and track ride progress for safety, GoDrively collects precise and approximate location data from your device as detailed below.

For Riders

We collect location data in the foreground (when the app is open and active) to determine your pickup/dropoff points and display available taxis. We also collect location in the background during active trips to log ride paths.

For Drivers

We collect location data in both the foreground and background when the driver app is active and set to 'Online' status. This is necessary to match you with riders and track completed mileage.

Note: You can disable location tracking in your mobile settings at any time, but doing so will prevent you from booking rides or accepting trips.

5. Device Information

We automatically collect technical data when you access or interact with the app. This includes:

  • Hardware Parameters: Device manufacturer, hardware model, CPU details, and screen resolution.
  • Software Parameters: Operating system version (iOS/Android), unique device identifier (UUID), push notification tokens, and mobile app build version.
  • Network Connection: IP address, mobile operator/carrier, network connection type (Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G), and language settings.

6. Ride & Transaction Information

We store records of your trip history, transaction amounts, and interactions:

  • Ride Details: Pickup and dropoff locations, timestamps of matching, booking, starting, and ending the ride, trip distance, duration, and route.
  • Financial Data: Fare breakdowns, payment methods (primarily cash on delivery), coupons/promo codes, and receipt documentation.
  • Customer Feedback: Ratings, reviews, or complaints submitted regarding drivers or passengers.

7. How We Use Information

GoDrively uses the gathered information to provide a smooth mobility experience. Specifically:

  • Core Service Provisioning: Authenticating accounts, facilitating matching, routing drivers, and tracking trip progress.
  • Safety & Security Monitoring: Verifying driver credentials, monitoring trip compliance, detecting fraudulent activities, and preventing bad behavior on the platform.
  • Customer Support: Troubleshooting app issues, resolving disputes, and handling refund requests.
  • Communications: Sending transactional alerts (push notifications or SMS confirming booking and driver arrival), support updates, and promotional messages.
  • Legal Compliance: Complying with public safety regulations, tax/accounting requirements, and official legal requests from government agencies in Algeria.

8. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We value your privacy and do not sell your personal data. We disclose your data only in the following scenarios:

  • Rider-Driver Shared Data: To perform the ride, the driver is shown the rider's name, rating, and pickup/dropoff coordinates. The rider is shown the driver's name, profile photo, vehicle details, current GPS location, and ratings.
  • Technical Service Providers: Sharing data with backend infrastructure hosting (Google Cloud/AWS), maps engines, push notification dispatchers, or SMS gateways.
  • Corporate Restructuring: Sharing information in connection with any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation, or acquisition of our business.
  • Legal Requirements: Disclosing data if required by law, regulation, license, or court order to protect the safety of the public or the platform.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account and ride-related history as long as you maintain your GoDrively account. Once an account deletion request is processed, we delete or anonymize your data, except where we must keep it (such as transaction history for tax and legal audits or unresolved support disputes) as permitted or required by law.

10. Data Security

We implement robust administrative, technical, and physical security measures (including secure SSL network communication and database encryption) to protect your account info and transaction history against unauthorized access, loss, or manipulation. However, no database, network transmission, or mobile device storage can be guaranteed 100% secure.

11. Your Rights

As a GoDrively user, you have the following rights regarding your information:

  • Access & Correction: You can view and edit your profile parameters (name, phone number, photo) directly in the app.
  • Location Consent: You can enable or disable location sharing through your device operating system permissions.
  • Push Notifications: You can manage notification preferences inside the app configuration or your device settings.
  • Account Deletion: You have the right to request deletion of your account and personal data (see Section 15).

12. Children's Privacy

GoDrively is intended for adults (above the age of 18 or legal driving age) and is not designed or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have unintentionally collected information from a child under 13, we will take immediate measures to delete the associated data from our servers.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes (e.g. collecting new types of data or changing processing methods), we will notify you through the GoDrively mobile app, via email, or by publishing a notice on our website homepage. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

15. Account Deletion Instructions

We respect your ownership of your data. You can delete your account and personal information permanently at any time. Refer to the instructions below to submit your request.

How to Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your GoDrively account and all associated personal records at any time. When deleted, all your active profiles, trip history, and stored preferences will be wiped from our databases.

Option A: In-App Deletion

  1. Open the GoDrively app on your mobile device.
  2. Go to Settings and click on Profile.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select Delete Account.
  4. Confirm your passcode or biometric login to authorize the request.

Option B: Web Deletion Request

If you cannot access your mobile app, navigate to our Account Deletion page or send an email to godrively@gmail.com from your registered email address with the subject line 'Account Deletion Request'. We will verify your identity and delete all data within 14 business days.
